STUDY GUIDEFOR MIDTERM EXAM

Remember to gather your quotes from your book of choice! See your class page for format.
Detailed point sheets went home on 11/19--please have these signed and returned to me after the break.
PARENTS! DETAILED GRADE PRINTOUTS WENT HOME ON 10/23 & 10/24. MAKE SURE THAT YOU SIGN THESE AND HAVE YOUR STUDENT BRING THEM BACK TO ME. IT IS A 10 POINT ASSIGNMENT.
Please get started reading your book for your research project!!!!! Reading is due on 12/10!
Pick one of the 10 topics from the handout (link above). If you choose a novel, and you are not good at picking out symbolism, look up the symbols before you start and keep track of them as you read.
BONUS: Watch Twelfth Night orA Midsummer Night's Dream. You will take an evaluation on Monday, January 5th. This is the ONLY time we will meet for this assignment to count on the first sememster.
BONUS: Ongoing--document occurrences of our vocabulary and allusions. Write 1) Where you saw/heard it, 2) The sentence it was used in. Books, papers, radio, teachers, television shows, and movies are all good sources. They must be "naturally occurring." You may not just Google the words!!!

This 9 week period ends on Friday 10/17. Report cards will follow on 10/22. Remember that this grade acts as an "official" progress report. It does not go on the transcript. However, it can act as a "wake up call" for anyone needing to get serious about his or her grade!!!
Progress reports are sent home to EVERYONE every 4-5 weeks! They are to be signed and returned to me. Unsigned reports get a 0/10 points.
Progress report dates for this year are weeks of September 15, November 17, February 18, and April 20.
Available for after school help until 4:00 most days, later by appointment.
